Hi,
I have been a member of The Kind lLife for @1 1/2 months. I joined The Kind Life after reading "About the Kind Life" section of this web site. Ideas such as tasty morsels, living your healthiest and happiest life to the fullest, no matter where you are in life, healthy and green house and a world of healthy green and eco friendly living stirred my joyful and most generous spirit. Then the attention turned to focus on this vegan lifestyle. Is this the reason for creating The Kind Life? I am a chef, a baker and a pastry chef, non professional right now, leaning toward esate planning as a career and taking an MBA,who is not vegan and never interested in veganism, yet saw caring beautiful gourmet ideas.
If you come across a non interested vegan should you : A) Let them wander around till they become one.B) Ask them to leave your life C) Ignore them till they go away or D) Hit them with all the love for vganism that you and your society posses as soon as possible.
Please respond only if you have laughed and felt friendly.
Counsel me carefully and with great joy in this matter or I will leave forever!
Love all forever!
Hi Mark,
As vegans we have problems with acceptance from other people, health concerns, and wish to connect with people going though similar issues to gain insights in how others have handled those situations.
My suggestion would be to look at the recipes and things that you are interested in and skip the sections of this blog dealing with vegan issues you are not. I personally don't look at the recipes often, I like to wing it with what I find in the market. I too find some of the issues things I don't have an interest in.
As far as your question about non vegans: With my nutrition background I know that you can not change anyone who doesn't want to change and it may cause more tension in a relationship to try. My view of the subject is I am who I am, and you are who you are, and that doesn't mean I like/love you less. I came to become vegan due to health issues and not as an activist.
My son will be going to culinary school soon, he is not vegan. But my lifestyle has a great impact on his exploration of food, acceptance of other people, and the ablity to be creative with foods in different ways.
I hope that you can cut through the things you don't like and continue to find the joy and love here. Love & Peace
I know that this site was based off of Alicia Silverstone's book, the Kind Diet, which does suggest a vegan diet, which is why the majority of the content on this site is based on a cruelty-free "kind" lifestyle. But I would certainly hope that people on here welcome everybody, vegans and non-vegans...after all, this is the KIND life! So welcome!
