I'm in charge of cooking a dish for my nutrition group this month. Of the 30 members, I am the only vegan, along with a couple vegetarians, but the rest are full on meat eaters. I need help thinking of a high-protein/low-carb dish that I can prepare. It needs to be healthy and tasty, yet gentle on the meat-eaters. I don't want to scare anyone away from the vegan lifestyle. I need this dish to show that being vegan can still taste great! Help!!

Tania- Yes, 10g+ of protein and under 30g of carbs per serving would be ideal.

I'm curious too why you need "high protein, low carb" foods? Americans eat many folds the amount of protein the body actually needs and uses. I would concentrate on something good and yummy and not worry about their dietary needs. I doubt any of these people need more protein. And your last sentence states you are more concerned with the taste...I'd go with that. Good luck to you!

I would go with some healthy chili, add some veggie crumbles for the beef and you get the protein packed beans as well as the flavor of the meaty chili. :)

How about this chili, minus the feta garnish? http://www.101cookbooks.com/archives/pierce-street-vegetarian-chili-recipe.html

I made it for my superbowl party and everyone thought it tasted very meaty, but without fake meats, which I have found can be off putting to meat eaters.
