Black bean brownies FAIL : (

Thanks Cynthia! I made the brownies you mentioned with walnuts and they were amazing. I brought them to a party and all my non-vegan friends loved them :) No one guessed they contained beans.

Can't help with the black bean brownies, but these are a great alternative! One of the quickest and easiest recipes I've ever found and the frosting is delish!

my black bean brownies turned out gross. they tasted like burtn coffee. i want to keep trying, but it was so sad to throw away a whole pan, that i am reluctant to try again. oh, well.

I'm so sorry for the probs here - my thing is that I totally puree the beans with any liquids called for and then blend the dry ingredients in, and that helps - I also do the thing where you start with a mix... :)

Hey You guys, try this one!


They're amazing! I took them to a work potluck and people asked for the recipe. It does call for eggs so you could try egg replacer and also if you add 1 tsp baking powder, they became a bit fluffier. (I still eat eggs but only on occasion and I get them from a local farmer who's chickens run free...I'm not quite vegan yet)
