Adzuki beans and Barley Malt syrup

I was wondering if there are any substitutions for them. I can't find the beans and the syrup is so expensive for me. Any help would be great! Thanks :)
Ok I found the beans and they are so expensive! Any recommended beans that would be ok to sub??
Really? Where'd you find them and were the beans dried or canned? My closest natural foods store has the dried ones and they're pretty cheap! Dried are usually the way to go if you're on a budget. Not sure what would be a good sub for them.
I've used brown rice syrup in place of barley malt, but they're close to the same price at my store. Maybe you could get both online cheaper?
My local store has Adzuki beans in bulk and they are cheap!
I only found the beans at one store so far and they are the dried ones. They were almost 8 dollars for the bag. I will have to keep looking. I looked in 4 different stores. Maybe I can try to find a bulk store. If I can't thou do you know of any other beans I could use in place of them?
Good tip on bulk! I searched bulk stores on the internet and found one close enough to go to! They have the beans for a very good price and I am going to go and get some tomorrow!
Well I bought the beans today and I am soooo happy! I have them soaking so I can make the adzuki beans and kabocha squash for dinner tomorrow! Cant wait to finally try it

Actually they were that price at 3 stores :(
