Hey everyone! So I have a few questions. I've basically gotten all vegan cosmetic/beauty products except I can't find a good arm deodorant! I tried Tom's of Maine but it made my skin all dry and peel so I stopped using it and went back to Dove =/
I also have some diet questions! I've been trying my best to be superhero lately but its been really hard for me. I'm in college and I don't have access to my own kitchen =/ I do my best with what I have at the dining hall, which is limited to salad, brown rice, soup (sometimes) and sometimes some form of chinese vegetables (such as broccoli, green beans, etc in a sauce). And I always can't make it to the dining hall! Usually for breakfast I'll have oatmeal or a Lara bar, or a piece of Eziekel with almond butter. And when I don't go to the dining hall for lunch/dinner I have frozen dinners (vegan of course- most from Whole Foods/Trader Joes). I know this isn't the best diet but I'm trying my best! Any suggestions?
Also I can't seem to kick cravings! I think I've gotten rid of my chocolate obsession (luna bars- so good!) and now I'm working on tortilla chips =/ Any suggestions on how to kick more cravings! Thank you everyone!
You know what's weird? When I first became vegan I found myself craving salty things like I never ever had. Eventually figured out that the salt cravings were related to the incredible stress I had been putting myself through for years, and doing the right balance of supplements has really moderated my salty cravings to near zero.
I love Bubble and Bee for deodorants (not all are vegan but some are) and also Soapwalla is great...
I'd say do the best you can with food at this point - so hard when you can't cook for yourself! Get some easy snacks like hummus with veggies, etc. and do the best you can.
I had a digital rice cooker in my dorm and it did wonders. Sounds like you have brown rice in your caf but I was able to cook other mixed grains in it so it really gave me a lot of variety. I could also pre-set the time on it to cook over night and i wake up with porridge. It really works almost like slow cooker where I could also cook veggies in it too. It really made macro eating so much easier.
Buy some other condiments to bring with you to the caf...some gomaisho or dulse to sprinkle on your rice, or you can buy Eden Sauerkraut and put some in a small container with you to bring to the caf so you get in some of your pickled veggies in there.
