supplementing formula with breast milk

sometimes i am not producing enough milk for my daughter so i have no choice but to supplement with formula. i am a vegan so i want to avoid regular formula if possible. i have been trying Enfamil's soy formula for sensitive tummies but every time i give it to her she throws up. I have tried diluting it with water and i have tried pacing her so she doesn't drink it too fast and it still isn't working. any suggestions on a soy formula to try or another way to go about it??
First off, is that an organic brand? Alicia had a post a while back about soy formula, you should try searching for it. There was one brand in particular mentioned, and it was definitely organic. It may have been Earth's Best, but I'm not at all sure. However, your baby may have a soy intolerance as well. Sorry I can't be of mroe help!
Hey this is the best formula I have found, Earths Best and all the others have corn syrup as the first or second ingredient. Also the company is very pro breast feeding, it says on the packaging that it is a "toddler" formula but on their website they say it is because they believe babies should be BF until one year. The back of the container says suitable for all ages. I have occasionally supplemented when my supply is low or I forget to pump. My son has a pretty sensitive stomach and has no bad reactions. Good Luck!
Dakota, You didn't say the brand of formula you used. Also, there are definately good vegan brands (check out alicia's post by searching), but if it's just the supply that is an issue, have you tried pumping? Pumping regularly helps increase your supply and also gives you a little more flexibility because you can store the milk. Good luck.
Oh! sorry, mommy brain. I meant to post a link. http://www.naturesone.com/soy/. Also I agree, pumping or dry nursing baby will increase supply. Also LOTS of water. I have heard of stuff like nutritional yeast and fenugreek and such working to but I have tried things like that with no such luck, mainly nursing my son more even if nothing comes out and drinking lots of water is what works for me. Best of luck!
You could always go with donor milk too:-)
especially if you want to avoid cows milk formula, and if your little one can't tolerate soy. Hope this helps:-)
