My husband and I have been vegan for over 2 years and all was going well, but for the last 4- 6 weeks, my husband has been experiencing joint pain (knee, elbow, calf, etc.). We take lots of supplements but we are wondering of if he is missing something in his diet. Has anyone else experienced this? Any ideas for us?

Could be a lack of omega-3 fatty acids. I had alot of joint pain before vegan and omega-3's really helped.

Chia seeds are a great vegan omega-3 source, aswell as being rich in protein, calcium, fiber, antioxidants and other nutrients.

I think you have to take check up from good docotr. Also use fruits and some other vitamins.

Lack of vitamins and minerals are causes of join pain.

You have to use mostly vegetables and less fat foods itmes..

read this book by Neal Barnard, there's a lot of info about joint pain and how to deal with it (you can have a look inside at amazon.com)

Prefer the foods rich in calcium as the joint pains are caused due to the lack of calcium.
