So I'm a brand spankin' new Vegan - 4 weeks old! I keep on forgetting I've gone Vegan. I'm going to share a story about eating meat - please don't hate me! :) I chose this diet because I was eating WAY to much cheese - I'm 97% percent Vegetarian anyway - and wanted a healthier diet.
It took a minute to get enough protein while going vegan. I was starving myself, unknowingly, and a few weeks ago, decided to just grab a quick snack while out. I was literally 2 chicken mcnuggets in before I realized, Wait a minute!! What the hell am I doing? This isn't Vegan!
I don't even eat chick mcN's that often! The last time was probably 8 months ago.
Then last weekend, I went with my sister to get coffee & before I realized it, I'd poured an inch of 1/2 and 1/2 into my coffee. My sister said, "Uhhh, that's not Vegan." I smacked my head - I keep forgetting!! I think maybe I'm not getting the nutrients I need because I never drink 1/2 & 1/2.
*Today I got soy milk in my coffee!*
Anyhow, I think I wasn't getting enough protein & nutrients & am more conscientious of it now. Did this happen with anyone else? What are some of your stories about going Vegan?
