I just had to share how happy I am to have influenced ppl here at work. I have a co-worker who was diagnosed with T2D so I gave her Kathy Freston's book. She is cutting out animal products and she even asked me to walk her through my fav health food store and teach her about the different products, etc. Well, that day she brought her roommate and now her roommate is doing the same thing!
Another co-worker has been learning bit by bit from me and has changed her household to non-GMO/organic. Well I invited her to the Earth Day Celebration at the park in our city last wknd where all of the vendors were vegan and there was plenty of info on the lives of the animals, etc. She brought her sister with her and now they have both decided to go vegan!! I am going to take them through the store as well (they cannot believe I feed my family of 6 on less than $400/mo) and show her the same things.
We are planning a brunch at Ethos a few weeks from now and it's blooming from just the two of us to more and more people wanting to join us :-D!!!
There are still the frustrations of hearing a friend next to me so sad because her mom was just told she needs to go in and have bypass surgery and I can't just scream "there is an answer that would prevent that!!!!" BUT.... one person at a time, I guess :-)
That is really inspiring! I'm so glad for you that you're managing to spread the word! :)
I was a vegetarian for years but only became vegan a few weeks ago - I emailed my Mum some of the information I had found when I was researching and she has now become vegetarian with the hopes of becoming vegan someday soon. :)
I hope that others will follow in her footsteps too from seeing how veganism is changing my health and ultimately my life :)
Well done
I love it when people are receptive to it. A work mate went meat free for a whole week because I was telling her about my veganism, and I wasn't even preaching! I must have just made it sound really good.
Hopefully I can get more to see the benefits. x
