Help for juice fast

I've recently gotten a swanky new juicer as a gift and am thinking of doing a juice fast (or cleanse, whatever is the right term).
I've read some great benefits of juicing on various blogs and books, but I'm not sure exactly what to do. Any first hand help, or suggestions for books?
My two main questions right now are: How much juice do I drink in a day? and, How long would a safe and effective juice fast last? (10 days, 14 days...?) Of course, any info/ insight you have would be helpful.
Thanks in advance!
hey i have a juicer and just bought the crazy sexy diet and all kinds of juicing books. have juiced/fasted before but i would love love love a buddy in this. but i hate to put my business all over here bc i dont like negativity for ppl who dont agree. hey your body tells you what you do/dont need right? anyways do you have a fb account? we could do it together?
My New Juicer is being shipped as I type.. I can't WAIT to get it... I think I'll be so excited that I'll juice fast by default but not intentional. i just won't know what to make first and will make EVERYTHING! *smile*
My body is feeling the need to cleanse, but likely won't do a full fast.. I'm just looking forward to the yummy juices I'll be able to make. Have fun with yours, you'll have to post your favorites.
hi guys - im so excited you have posted about this as I have also just got a smoothie maker. I have tried the thrive diets for breakfast so far but looking forward to having more juices throughout the day. I am getting recipies off the net but if you come across any good ones or have any good tips let me know.
kirene - i found an extract from jason vale's 7lb in 7 days who suggests 6 juices throughout the day - there are various recipies on line too. hope this helps
Just check to see if your juicer retains some of the pulp/fiber, juices i.e pure sugar have been found to be a factor in non alcoholic fatty liver disease. Thus a juicer which retains some of the fiber or adding a little external fiber source is a good idea to slow the absorption of sugars.
Juicing is great and most consume a glass or so a day which for most wont cause any issues. The fiber also stops the massive spikes of blood sugar so when its missing it can cause problems.

Good afternoon folks!
I am embarking on a three day juice fast starting tomorrow morning. I'm using the mean green juice recipe from "fat, sick and nearly dead". For those of you who have embarked on a juice fast, I'd love to hear your results, lenght of fast and what types of juice you drank.
