My youngest daughter is almost six so its been a few years but I loved Cloth Diapers. We used cloth most of the time ,except on longer trips then we used disposable, but it wasnt often.

My grandma who raised six boys used to use the plain cloth cotton diapers ,wash and hang them on her clothesline to dry,she used diaper pins and potty trained very early. We have it easier since those days but she always said it was much more healthy and economical that the tons of disposables we go through each year in this country.

I used a local service back then that is no longer in business but we have a new local business that sprouted up since then and has had great reviews from friends and family.

We are in the ENDLESS wait of an adoption right now....but when we finally bring a baby home, we plan to cloth diaper. We have all the little diapers washed and ready, the green detergent and diaper bag etc. I will be checking back here regularly for support etc when we are finally matched.

I am in Australia, so I am not sure whether the nappies we use are available in the USA. We use Baby Beehinds multi-fit. The multi-fit have either a bamboo or hemp booster and cloth insert. We could use either because of where we live - the weather! I cannot believe how well the sun bleaches them! Check out www.babybeehinds.com.au they have a lot of great information about cloth nappies even if you are not in their delivery zone. It is a husband and wife team and when you ring their hotline that is who you talk to, I love it.

We used disposables at first, I really think that I would've given up on cloth if I started with them for baby number 1. If number 2 comes along we will start with cloth, we are much more confident now.

@Kaava, I wish you all the best on your adoption, you will find your baby.

This isn't helpful info, but just wanted to say that I'm very excited that so many of you are cloth diapering! My daughter is 24, but I used cds and they were extremely hard to find. This is great news for your baby and the environment!

It's nice to see so many cloth diapering mamas! I have two kiddos, ages 2 and almost 5, and I cloth diapered both from birth. (My 2 year old is still in them!)

My hubby and I LOVE our cloth diapers! We use a variety of brands and it has been a wonderful expirience. Not only is it great for our babies and the environment, but we have saved so much money. My 2 year old is still wearing the same diapers I started with, so we have really only had to make one initial purchase.

Great job, cloth diaper mamas!

I use a service, so not sure I'm saving money - but it's awesome and I wouldn't do it any other way. They even have cloth wipes! The pediatrician said he doesn't remember the last time he saw a baby in cloth. Sad...

Hi everyone, I know this is an old thread, but I've been cloth diapering for 5 years, currently cding my toddler twins, they've been cd'd since birth. (well about 2 weeks, they were tiny and too small for my diapers until then.). We use organic whenever possible. I use organic prefolds from green mountain diaper, with flips and thirsties. We use BG elementals for out and about. I like sbish fitteds and wool for nights.

Nice to see all the CD'ers on here!
