I wasn't sure which section to post this in, but was hoping this one was good.

In the book, she mentions that she doesn't take a supplement and that it is actually possible to get too much of something by taking one. My question is, how many of you take a vitamin suppliment? I have taken one for quite some time now and have only been vegan for a week. I know you can technically get everything you need from vegetables, but where I live, little grows so pretty much everything has to be brought in... I worry about the quality of vitamins and minerals in these foods so I feel like I should continue to take the multi-vitamin, but like I said... I'm new at this so I still have tons to learn.

Any advice would be appreciated. Thanks!

Apart from b12 and vitamin D you can get most nutrients from a vegan plant based diet. Personally myself even though i eat very healthy i like to supplement. But i dont use synthetic sources in most cases, i like to blend a variety of different nutrient rich herbs such as nettle leaf, alfalfa, wheatgrass, chlorella, spirulina, oatgrass etc. These all have multiple other benefits that taking a synthetic supplement wouldnt.

Some supplements mega dose crazy amounts of fat soluble vitamins such as A, D, E and these can accumulate and cause problems in high doses long term. Personally aslong as the multivitamin you have is a decent one i see no problem in taking it.
