My husband (omnivore) made lunch on Mother's day. He decided to bake a turkey, stuffing, mashed potatoes and gravy. Then I made up some field roast with spinach (which went nicely with the potatoes).

My daughter (4 years old) saw the turkey on her plate and started crying. She said that the turkey was not vegan and it was dead, so she will not eat it. I had to smile. She is vegetarian, but daddy insists on offering her meat on occasion. Normally she just ignores it. So nice that she is putting together the peices.

My son (15 years old), omnivore, told me this weekend he would like to go vegetarian for the summer. That would leave only my husband left to convert!

I just wish I could get them all to quit drinking cow's milk. 1 baby step at a time.

That is adorable. Yea for your kids! They are way more in tune with things than most adults! My nephew loves almond and soy milk. He drinks cows milk too but we have substituted the others in and he likes them! Too bad his mom is anti-vegan!

I did not go grocery shopping this weekend, and just realized we are out of cow's milk. I wonder how that happened? Well, it's a good thing that I have lots of almond, soy and coconut milk available. I live an hour away from the grocery store and there just isn't anywhere available to pick up a few groceries, so I guess they will have to make due this week.
