Hello everybody!

I have a problem that I hope somebody can help me with. I have a 5 year-old Golden Retriever and am in the process of transitioning to cruelty-free products for him, e.g. shampoo, poop bags, etc. My big problem is getting cruelty-free dog toothpaste for him! I cannot find any company that offers a toothpast for dogs that has not been tested on other animals! Please help! If anybody knows a company or product that is cruelty-free and that I can use to brush my dog's teeth, please let me know.

Thanks xoxo

Hi Miki,

I'm a vegan who brushes her cats' teeth every single day for the past 4 years using either one of the following toothpastes:

(I have no idea if these are animal product free or not tested on animals, but I'd appreciate you looking it up. I have not bothered because it's very important to me that my children have clean teeth even if it means to sacrifice something I don't believe in like animal cruelty.)

Drs.Foster and Smith baking soda

CET shrimp, mint, malt, chicken or beef <- i know, i know ok...

Pet Dental Brand with flouride

Listererines they've used:

CET's

Tropiclean

Drs Foster and Smith

When I first became vegan last year, this topic about cat toothpaste bothered me a lot, but as time went on I made a decision what was more important to their health.

Also I commend you for brushing your dog's teeth (assumingly on a daily basis) as most people don't bother.

I use toddler size toothbrushes for them and they've gone through about 9 brushes in four years. My cats and I use whatever toothbrushes are at the store in 'soft'. I heard toothbrushes aren't always cruelty free either...

Try Eco Well Dog (not sure if its only for dogs though). They have shampoo, conditioner, ear cleaning stuff, and toothpaste. I just discovered them (recently), as I am in pursuit of the same goal. They seem to be a parent company of a couple companies, so you have a small selection. I just ordered shampoo from Happy Tails Spa, and pre-ordered(?) for the toothpaste (on back order). Hope this helps!
