Protein - Pregnant - Need Advice

I'm 3 months pregnant, and talked to a nutritionist yesterday - she had been vegetarian (not vegan) for her 3 pregnancies. She said that I need complete protein souces and the only vegan sources are soy (tofu, edemame, etc) and quinoa and hemp seeds. I don't eat each of these foods everyday but thought that if i ate enough types of vegan protein, that would be siffficient, but she had me scared, so now i'm looking for reassurence that a wide variety of vegan protein sources is sufficient.
Marcinic - why don't you do a site search for pregnancy. Alicia has done several pregnancy blogs over the past year, some the past few months, some others closer to a six months or a year ago. There were many questions answered about vegan pregnancy. Also, I believe that if you eat brown rice and beans, that makes a complete protein. Plus, If you get enough variety each day, that should be sufficient. But, that's just my own knowledge. You should research yourself, and look up those posts by Alicia to alleviate some of your concerns. Vegan pregnancies are not common, so a lot of professionals don't really know much about it. If I were you, I would definitely research on my own and gain as much knowledge as you can - especially to help you respond to (loving) family members and such who will want you to eat animals. Good luck!
The complete protein theory is a myth that even the author who put the idea forward eventually retracted and agreed that it was bunk. It worries me that a nutritionist doesnt know something so basic.
Its about the quality of your protein/amino acid sources over the day, sure if you want to add beans and rice its no problem, many do this.
Goji berries is another example of a vegan complete protein source.
