How to eat in tropical weather

Hi everyone. This question is really for Alicia, but if anyone knows or has any advice on how to eat "the kind" way in Hawaii please let me know. I'm finding that the dishes that are in her book are very warming and I need to know if that's going to work if I'm in a tropical environment. I should really be eating cooling foods. Or am I wrong? I'm no expert. lol
