I just found out I am expecting my first. We suspect I am between 2 and 5 weeks pregnant but haven't seen a doctor yet because my husband will deploy today and I will be headed back home (across the country). I went mostly vegan in March. I am so very uncomfortable some days from having a swollen belly. I feel like if I could just toot all would be well but air just stays trapped in my belly. What can I do? Do I really have to avoid beans completely?? Please say it isn't so! I only eat them about once a day usually.

Hi Jennifer,

Congratulations! I just found out that I am pregnant too, about 5 weeks. I have that same swollen feeling in my tummy. Kind of a full feeling (and thinking I need to toot). I was curious if this is "normal". I am assuming so? My first appointment is not until I am 8 weeks (at 6 weeks there is a group meeting, but not indicidual time).

Anyone know why this feeling is? and if its "normal"?

I THINK I am realizing that I can't eat much cabbage or beans and definitely cannot eat them together. SO, if you are eating either of those be easy on them and I think keeping a food journal is proving to be helpful. CONGRATULATIONS! I am really loving connecting with other moms to be! So pleased for you :)

I am also about 5 weeks pregnant and also am bloated!! My pants don't fit :( I am happy to be pregnant but sad to already be popping out.. or maybe it is just bloat? It is my 2nd baby so maybe that's why.. I hear the tummy pops out much quicker the 2nd time, but THIS quick???
