Junk Mail

Hi all Kind Lifers -

I know Alicia did a post on this a while back, but the 'search' function for this site doesn't work on my computer. Does anyone know the best/safest site to use to have your name removed from junk mail lists? What about your address - can you remove your address from the list? That's really my biggest question, as I get junk flyers, like from local businesses, that are labelled: 'old tenant' OR 'current resident,' at my address. Is there any way to stop that?

Thanks!

Unfortunately, I don't think there is any way to stop anything that goes to "current resident"...I've tried and tried and even spoke with the post office about it. It's so annoying. I get this big, like newspaper sized ad 3-4 times a week in my mail, and it's super annoying. Luckily, I have a lizard whose tank uses newspaper in the bottom, so I have a use for it, but it is really annoying.

This costs a buck, but you can do it easily at dnaconsumers.org/cgi/offmailinglist it think.

Here in Australia it's very common for people to attach a small sign on their mail box saying "No Junk Mail". I don't know if this is commonly done in America? If you don't want junk mail in your mail box then people delivering it should respect your wishes.
