I'm reading "The Kind Diet" and I'm new to the vegan world! I just had a couple questions about some items listed in the book. I noticed in the snack list, she listed ramen soups. I love ramen noodle soups, but I cut that out of my diet because I thought it had a lot of msg and added sodiums. Are they really okay in moderation? Or are there specific brands I should be looking for?
My other question really just regarded other processed foods, are they really good for you? The veggie burgers, frozen dinners, bean burgers, and others.
If anyone has suggestions, I'd appreciate it! Thanks
Jessica, the processed foods are obviously not the best choices, though they can help in the early transition phase. But the less you eat the better you will feel. As far as ramen goes, I buy the plain ramen (sometimes packed just as 'Chinese Noodles') and add them to homemade dishes. The prepacked ramen are just the noodles and powdered instant broth anyway, fresh broth and veggies are much yummier I think. Homemade veggie burgers or bean burgers are delicious and healthful too. The only processed food I buy is Daiya cheese for those occasional cheesy fixes, but it is much less processed than most kinds out there and tastes way better.
Welcome to the Kind Life!
