Spirulina during pregnancy

I've been vegan for about a year, and am currently 5 months pregnant. It dawned on me this morning as I was going for my morning routine of prenatal supplements that I've continued my pre-pregnancy intake of 1.5g of spirulina daily without ever thinking about it. But this morning I kind of freaked out...and started researching the effects of Spirulina during pregnancy...and most info is inconclusive due to lack of research. The main concern seems to be mercury contamination. Have any of you taken spirulina regularly during pregnancy? what do you recommend, to stop or continue? has anyone experienced strange side effects? Thanks for your help!!!!!

I took it until 6 months. They say it is so nutrient dense you cannot take it into the 3rd trimester because the baby will grow very quickly and be too big to birth vaginally. I believe as long as you are getting it from a good source not to worry too much. Also listen to your body, if you start feeling it is too much cut back. Or eliminate it completely, your body knows best. But for the record, I took it for the first 6 months and had a 8lb.12 oz 23" long healthy baby boy all natural at home, who is incredible smart crawled early walked early knows baby sign language, is incredibly sharp and is the perfect image of health. My mom also used spirulina when she was pregnant with me so I think it is just fine.
