Dog hair everywhere

I'm buying my own home and the closing date is approaching .. I'm going to be buying new furniture and I'm wondering if anyone can suggest the best fabric for pets? I have one dog.. whom I adore.. but he leaves a trail of white hairs pretty much everywhere he goes. I had a red microfiber couch most recently and that was a nightmare. So .. any suggestions?

I hear you pain. I have a light color dog and a dark blue couch, not a good match. I have given up and keep it covered with a "dog colored" blanket that gets washed about once a week. Doesn't help that she sleeps on it when we aren't looking.
I have 1 large dog, a german shepard mixed with border collie, and 3cats. I bought a fake
leather couch and the fur just flies off. good luck.
I have a Golden Retriever, and a dark brown fabric couch. You get the picture. The best, fastest, easiest way to get rid of the fur is simply to put on a dry rubber dish glove, and wipe your hand over the couch. The fur balls up into a little roll. It also gets alot of the dirt off the fabric. Give it a try.
