Hey everyone!!

I'm visiting Denver, CO for the first time in August and was wondering if I could get some veggie dining recommendations! And also some recommendations for anything fun and unique that I must do while in Denver! Thanks for any info!

WaterCourse Foods, its sister restaurant City O' City (best Seitan "Wings" ever!) and the Mercury Cafe are all strictly veg. You can also usually find veg food fairly easily at almost any restaurant, really!

You definitely have to get up to Estes Park and Rocky Mountain National Park while you are here - about 1 1/2 to 2 hours northwest of Denver. Gorgeous scenery, plus the possibility of seeing elk, moose, bighorn sheep, all kinds of wildlife. Red Rocks park is another very scenic place to hike around. Dinosaur Ridge is pretty cool too.

I second Red Rocks Park, absolutely beautiful and for those of us who have seen concerts at Red rocks ampitheater, there is none better.

Dinosaur Ridge is very nice. Recently they quit allowing vehicles to drive over it, so now you have to park on one side or the other and walk it. Still beautiful, if you can do the walking.

Golden has the Colorado train museum, the quilt museum and a couple other small museums, plus some really great trails.

If you have a whole day to tour around I would drive to Mount Evans. If you drive all the way to the top the hike to 14,000 feet is only 1/4 mile, gorgeous! Plus Idaho Springs is so fun. Pizza place in Idaho Springs called Beau Jo's uses vegan crust and sauce, and they have daiya for topping your "mountian Pie". The Indian Hot springs are amazing, although a little outdated so the building does feel old and dirty. If you can get past that it's a nice place to relax.

In Denver you have Elitch Gardens six flags. I stay away, it's overpriced and way too crowded.

One of my favorite things to do in Denver is to walk or bike the trails.

O-by the way the restraunts that Starflower recommended are amazing! They are veg, so if you are vegan, just tell them and they will hook you up! Save room for dessert. Yum.

I forgot Heritage Square!

I kind of hate Elitch Gardens. It was beautiful, unique and historic - then Six Flags took it over, moved it across town, destroyed the gardens that were such an integral part of it... blah. Don't give them your money!
