Hello! I am so excited to be on this site - I am on day 3 of vegan-ism and so far its going great! As a girl who has been dieting for years it is amazing to finally not be counting calories and just knowing what I can eat and what I can't. I am determined to stick with this, but I have one question. I am just vegan for now, hoping that after a few months I can go to Superhero at least 4 days a week, and then up it from there. I am eating lots of fruits and veggies and some soy, and definitely haven't kicked the sugar yet - I took coffee out right away so I need to have one vice left for now! But I have found that the first couple days I felt pretty much the same, maybe a little better, but today I almost feel hungover or like I'm at the very beginning stages of getting sick. Is this something everyone experiences? I'm wondering if its my body detoxing, but since I only cut out meat and dairy I'm not sure how much of a "detox" I'm actually doing. Any words of wisdom would be appreciated!
Emily, Yes, you are most certainly detoxing. Giving up meat, dairy and coffee at the same time is huge and you might feel crappy for a while. When I gave up animal products, I detoxed so heavily that I had to start eating eggs again. If you'd given up sugar at the same time as the other things you'd probably be feeling even worse than you are now! I recommend that you drink lots of water, get plenty of rest and maybe get some Synergy Kombucha to get your body back into balance. Good luck!!! Isabelle
