Feeling drowsy and stomach acting up

Ive been eating by the Kind Diet for the past 3 days, and right now I am feeling a little bloated, like a slight stomach ache. And I feel really drowsy, like I am about to pass out. I feel dead. Every meal I have half a cup of chick peas, half a cup of brown rice, and a cup of peas or carrots. I eat it all. Why do I feel this way........isnt this diet supposed to make me healthy?
Hmmm.....just reading up on chick peas......apparently they are hard to digest. So I may just have poor digestion. Oh well, getting some umeboshi plums tonight and daikon to make in miso soup. Maybe that will help.
hello, and welcome.
if you're eating just chickpeas, brown rice, and peas & carrots at every meal, you're not getting enough of varying nutrients or calories to sustain you. while its fine for one meal a day, there are so many other things to break up the monotony of eating the same thing over and over. the kind diet has a ton of delicious recipes to try out -- give them a shot!
besides, if you're new to veganism, they are common side effects. it will take awhile for the gross meat and dairy to leave your system.....that does contribute to the lethargy (and the stomachache could be gas pains from the chickpeas--)... give it time, rome wasn't built in a day :)
good luck!

Thank you Jdoc :) I was a vegan before. I fell off the wagon because I thought it was due to the fact that I wasnt getting enough meat in my diet (plus nagging friends and family). But the Kind Diet book helped me to see that changing my diet will put my body through a roller coaster ride for a while. These are things that I never really at before. I'll keep trucking :)
I've been doing this for 2 days--no sugar or meat--and I have the above symptoms plus achiness in my legs (like having the flu, but not a severe). Am I withdrawing from sugar?
