Hi, I'm a new gardener, and had a question about the flowers budding from my herbs. Are they edible, if so, how would I use them? Someone told me that the buds with flowers on the tips of my basil, should be cut becaus they inibit grow. Is this true?

Flowers will produce seed, this is the time when plants regenerate new life and produce seeds for new growth for the next year, or whenever you need to use them. This is a great way to avoid the costs of buying to plants or seed packets.

I'm also a new gardener and am trying to let my arugula go to seed, also my stevia...I guess a little more time and mother-earth will do her magic.

I have tried to cut back my arugula once it grew log stems with cute little flowers, but I haven't really expierenced with seed production yet. My spinich might have produced seeds already, I'll need to do some expierementing.

Good Luck,

Julie S.
