Hello, Im dana from texas and the community that I live in is mainly meats and potatoes. I recently went into an herb shoppe explaining that I was interested in going vegan and they wanted to know my blood type telling me I shouldnt go vegan if I have a certain blood type and that I need to try a certain product and only go vegitarian. Why? The lady said because we do not have enough organic items in our town to go vegan. What am I to do if that is the path I want to go? Do I need to be tested and plz tell me I dont have to use their products of protien shakes and such. Any help would be appreciated alot...Thanks.

Sounds like the vitamin shop was trying to scare you into spending a small fortune in thier store.

If I were you I would try to find a vegan friendly nutritionist in your area that could help you out with all your questions, that way he/she could point you to the local products and stores.

A vegan diet has NOTHING to do with your blood type. LOL!!!! That store was trying shank you.

Anyone can go vegan.

I agree with the great response from Katherine above.

Veggies and legumes are actually high protein - so there is no need for protein supplements.

You do need to get some B12 from fortified products or a suppliment though.
