Born & raised small-town Nebraska girl here. After having red meat only a handful of times since January 2011 and an awful experience last week after an office potluck I decided to take the plunge in becoming fully vegetarian in hopes of becoming kind. I ordered TKL last night and can't wait for its arrival! My sister-in-law has been vegan on and off for a few years and prepared us a 4-course meal when we went to LA to visit her this May...it was delicious! She had gotten a copy of TKL & met Alicia @ the Santa Monica library a few months back, inspiring her to go fully vegan. Anyway...here I am in beef country, on a budget, busy being a full-time student, worker and mom to a 20 month old trying to work my way to veganism. I am as excited as I am overwhelmed with all the information I've gathered as I've begun my journey. Very thankful for this forum!
