Alicia, why not raw?

I'm not interested in being raw. But in the book it really intrigued me to know the anwswer why you didn't think raw was the way to go. You touched on it and briefly mentioned it, but I guess I'm wanting a more in depth answer or even if you wanted to point me in the right direction as to why not. Thank you.
