My husband and I are heading down to New York next month and I really want to visit an animal sanctuary. My first thought was to visit the Farm Sanctuary, as I've heard lots about it, but while browsing I also came across Catskill Animal Sanctuary. We only have time for one. Anyone have a favorite??

Farm Santuary is WONDERFUL! It is the love of my life. . . . Howeve, I do want to visit Woodstock Farm Animal Sanctuary too. If you go to Farm Sanctuary they have some good vegan places not too far away in Ithaca and also in Elmira (or some place that starts with an "E.") There is a cute vegan place there that is run by this adorable lady who is possible from Jamaica. The food was great. Check out Farm Sanctuary's website and you will find it on their local attractions list. There also was a great raw place in Ithaca if it is still there. Have fun!

Hi! The three sanctuaries about are ALL wonderful!! My husband and I have been to them all and they are all worth the trip! If anyone does end up in the area....My husband and I run an all vegan bed and breakfast that is about 45 minutes to an hour from The Catskill Animal Sanctuary, and also about that distance from the Woodstock Sanctuary. We are located on the NY side of the Berkshires..so there is a lot to see and do in the area. We live on 85 acres and live with rescued farm animals (adopted from Catskill) Another stop to consider on your farm animal sanctuary trip! www.redrobinsongguesthouse.com.
