Monoglycerides

Hi,
I am terribly confused about the following ingredients said not to be vegan that are in products like peanut-butter and popsicles:
DIGLYCERIDES: Monoglycerides. Glycerides. From animal fat. In margarines, cake mixes, confectionaries, foods, peanut butter, non-dairy coffee creamer, cosmetics, etc. Glycerin. Alternatives: vegetable monoglycerides and diglycerides, synthetics.
GLYCERINE
GLYCEROL
I buy glycerine soap that says it is cruelty free on the package.
I also have been eating fruit popsicles that contain glycerol in them because I thought nothing of it until now.
My little brother, a 14 lacto-ovo vegetarian brought these ingredients to my attention. His source:

It's great that you read labels but if you check veganwolf again they state that these additives may be from either animal or vegetable sources. I found another site: http://www.vrg.org/nutshell/faqingredients.htm which I think you'll find helpful. It points out that asking the company that uses these ingredients is the only way to be sure if they're vegetable or animal derived.
Btw, a healthy, natural peanut butter should only have peanuts & maybe a bit of salt, nothing more.

So before I can sit down and eat something I have to contact the company? Wow being vegan sucks sometimes...
Does ANYBODY know where I can get one of those wallet-size cards for vegans that has the list of ingredients to avoid? I have heard of these so I know they exist. Who has one and where did you get it? Thanks!
There just might be an app for that. I *think* Alicia may have done a post awhile back with vegan apps for smartphones. I'll have to find it sometime so I can add them to my new smartphone. I already downloaded the happy cow one.
^I'd like a wallet-size card so that when I'm out shopping and I'm unsure about something I can pull it out and compare the ingredients.
