so i have an 8 month old son that i have yet to vaccinate. my head is telling me to do it (at least some) but my gut is telling me not to.... i have an eleven year old that has had his needles but i just did what i was told to do, now i don't feel good about it at all. most info i find is from the states, just wondering if there are any canadians out there with some insight.

I'm from the U.S.,

I know at least for pets our integrative vet does homeopathic vaccines

that often means a small amount of whatever it is, so....

but I heard they are safer I think

lemon juice is an all around good thing for immunity if not sensitive to citrus

I wear a tiny portable ionizer from Gaiam.com (helps filter viruses and allergens)

blueberries/cranberries kill bacteria in gut (U.T.I. type stuff)

maybe garlic? ginger? those spices for health (and mind too)

if babies can eat that? omega 3's,

I've heard a raw baby in alberta that likes young coconut green smoothies!

probiotics are good

I would seek out a board certified western/ integrative holistic doctor and wait till it feels right in your gut, I don't know of anyone in Canada to suggest

immunity is more that shots! it's about overall wellness

maybe baby yoga! Mommy and me?

Best wishes.

lemon juice as it cleanses the gut

where disease begins

my yoga teacher A.G. Mohan says the bigger the belly, the more the disease

so keeping digestion good is very good!

learning your babies consitution and what foods it digests well can be helpful all around!

I read this book:

http://www.amazon.com/Vaccine-Book-Decision-Parenting-Library/dp/0316017507

By Robert Sears. He explains what each vaccine is for, what the possible reactions to it could be, and if he recommends his patients to do them. He doesn't make you feel like these are the vaccines you have to get, he lets you make the decisions from his research and knowledge.

I decided to do some of the vaccinations and skip several. I'd say, do your research and do only the vaccines you are comfortable with, it's not an all or nothing sort of situation. Some vaccines have a high rate of negative reactions.

My daughter never had any shot and have never been sick to this day (she is 2 1/2 years old) except for varicella and roseola. Never had ear infections or any -itis ending desease. When compared to her vaccinated friends she is way healthier. One book that I recommend is : 'How to raise a healthy child in spite of your doctor' by Robert S. Mendhelson. He not only talks about vaccines but also every symptoms you might encounter in your little one and how to deal with it.

I personnally am convinced that vaccines are doing more wrongs than good in healthy kids (and i am not necessarily refering to the autism link which has not been proved or disproved yet). The best recipe for health is still a good whole vegan diet! Hope that helps!

thanks a lot catherine. i'm going to check the library for that book. i'm happy to say cosmo has yet to have any sickness either. one or two diaper rashes, which i'm pretty sure were caused by his teething. vegan all the way for this boy:) i was at the toronto veg fair today. i bought him the cutest little shirt, it had a picture of a cutie pig and above it reads "not my dinner." too cute!!
