Hey! So I have been vegan for about 6 months now...I am doing pretty good except the fact that I have become a serious junk food vegan...I have found way too many tasty vegan junk food substitutions that I fill my day with stuff I probably shouldnt be eating.....I just joined a new gym and I want to get toned up! I was wondering if there was anyone out there that could point me in the right direction into what I should be eating?? before the gym? after the gym? dinner snacks? PLEASE HELP ME!!!!
I am barely there yet with being vegan but am trying hard. I have however, been working out for years. Oatmeal for before a workout or a no-egg frozen waffle with peanut butter will get you some energy. Vega bars for before or after a workout. Cheerios (unless those aren't vegan?) and soy or almond milk. Any of these work for me before a 10k run or more or a 5k run with a P90X workout for upper body ( about 90 minutes of workout).
You know I have been hearing about these vega bars....what are they? and where can I get them?
We sell the vega bars, chy, they are a blend of vegan wholefoods that are high protein plus contain other vitamins, minerals, antioxidants etc.
If you are doing weight training then after the gym you would want to consume a protein source such as vega sports protein. Before the gym some quick carb source for energy such as a banana or oats.

Thanks so much for the info ;)....Im going to start training this weekend and hopefully it goes well.....Is there a certian amount of time your supposed to eat before working out?
Not really but it can be uncomfortable training after eating so leaving around 30 minutes is a good idea.

coconut water post workout, it's the best! Way better for you than gatorade. Trader Joes carries it but some SuperTarget's have also had it
Coconut water is good if you have been doing cardiovascular or endurance workouts, as its isotonic thus replacing electrolytes.
Protein shakes are best post workout if weight training.
