Hello,

I just finished reading Alicia's book. I have been flirting with being a vegan for about five years. I am now 10 days in to becoming a vegan. I do not eat meat or dairy. I am truly trying to follow some of her recipes and include lots of brown rice, grains, beans, fruits and lots of veggies. I need some advice and encouragement. Occasionally I have had constipation problems which is why I really wanted to do this. However I am concerned because I am not seeing the results I had hoped for. I realize it has only been ten days but I am feeling really discouraged. Also I do exercise every day. Either a 30 minute walk and run or I might go to the gym for a 40 minute session. Please tell me I will see improvements in the near future! Thanks for any advice.

Hi Denise, welcome to the world of vengans. My only suggestion would be to not approach this as a diet per se but as a lifestyle change. Regardless of the amounts you eat you shouldnt try and compensate it with x amounts of exercie. Simply do it because it makes you feel good. And your approach towards food should be the same, pay attention to the way youre feeling, the energy, and the weight loss will come alone. Believe me, Ive been in your shoes and Im still amazed at the results! Best of luck...
