I am so sorry you feel that way. I would suggest making a vegan protien shake to start your day again. It sounded like that really worked for you. Keep the rest of your meals superhero but if that breakfast made you feel great then I would suggest trying that before you try eating fish. There are some really good protien powders like spirutein, vega, rice protein or pea protein or hemp protein. Just stay away from whey which comes from milk and can cause health problems. Then just put whatever fruits or greens you used to put in, with some vegan milk and peanut or almond butter and maybe some sweetener if you're into that. Also you might want to add some dha or ground flax for omega 3s. I think if you used rice milk and rice protien it would totally be superhero ;).

I'm sad to say I was having some crappy feelings that led to the ER awhile back and I was so sad b/c I was so happy thinking my vegan diet was helping. I'm sure it was, but still, I understand the frustrating thinking you're eating so well and then to have a health scare makes you sad. Last year when I went vegan my nails were falling off and I was also so sad that I thought my vegan lifestyle would make them stronger. But I"m still doing vegan.

Maybe you should consult with a vegan macrobiotic nutritionist, make sure you're getting everything you need? Sounds like something is definitely missing...

Hey! I know the feeling. I think it is a learning process. I am still learning. I agree with the others. If shakes worked for you, do it. I haven't tried this, but read a recipe for vegan smoothie with silken tofu in it. It can add some extra protein in addition to the protein powders.

I'm really sorry you're feeling so crummy :( I think that while the superhero diet has some really wonderful wisdom to impart, it's crucial to listen to your body's own innate wisdom. Each body is different and what works for one person might not work for another. I think it's really important to take what you can from this lifestyle, and listen to yourself for the rest. Your body is asking for something different-don't stick with a staunch superhero diet plan if you're feeling terrible on it.

Ditto what Deb said. Sounds like something is missing...anyway you can consult with a registered dietician to go over what you eat? Are you getting enough calories? Protein? B-vits? Iron? Hope you find out what's causing your current negative feelings.

yeah i actually got my vits all checked 2x this yr and everythin was perfect wich got me excited that i can say the vegan diet can do that bc u no how everyone could be, but i have been addin just half a tbs of a rice protein powder to my mornin oats and already feel a difference its just crazy how something that little could do a effect, and my protein levels were good i get more then enough, its true i guess the superhero diet doesnt work for someone day in a day out.. thanks everyone for the help i hope you are all doin well on it and keep it up!
