I've already gone vegetarian and am interested in going vegan, but most of the dairy substitutes contain carageenan, which is a known carcinogen. I was wondering if anyone else was aware of this and what they've done to avoid it well still eating well as a vegan.
Thanks!
Oh my gosh! I didnt know that!!!! Thank you Meghan.
I tried making my own almond milk, but after I strained it, it turned out alittle runny. but I've also noticed that Unless I'm doing baking or extrvagant cooking I dont need a milk substitute. but there are some organic brands of milks that dont have that ingrediant. Eden is a good one, I beleive it doesnt have that. Rice, almond, and hazelnut are the best for drinking cause they taste better and dont leave the film or aftertaste that soy does.
Find a good recipe for a thick milk substitute and try it out! Home made is always best.
Hope I helped ya Meghan. =]
