Yes weight watchers...I'm 5'2 and weigh 174.4 pounds today as I type and what the scale said at my local WW mtg, the one I joined today! I purchased 2 cookbooks and I can totally be a vegan on ww. I'm so psyched....there are a zillion vegan recipes and they sound like they taste meelicious! I'm overweight...well obese because of my height and BMI...so if anyone else is on this path with me please email me @ bodytimemassage@yahoo.com if not lets have fun....I will share recipes but not disclose anything else unless you are a member of weight watchers...also they have this great new device that you can take to the market and just enter all the carbs...fiber...fat etc....right there and find out if you want to purchase that loaf of bread vs the wrap...lets have fun

Hi Michele. I lost 110 pounds on weight watchers 8 years ago and I still practice journaling, and counting points as a vegan. I think it is a wonderful program and I recommend it as a card carrying lifetime member. Good luck. I went from a size 20/22 to a 4/6. I went vegan to get my cholesterol in check and also because I just can't stomach eating animal flesh. Let me know how you are doing. Be accountable. Count EVERY bite lick and taste. Good vibes coming your way!!!!

Sincerely,

Jami

thank you jami...i'm starting today and I have a great feeling about it because the recipes in their new books are vegan already and I'll have portions that I can be acountable for.

wow michele and jamik. good on you guys. sounds like your doing fantastic things.

michele my entire family has given weight watchers a go and all with reasonably good results. unfortunatly that streak of family laziness and inability to follow through put it all to an end. i am happy to say though that now since finding veganism im the healthiest ive been in a long time and lost 5kg in the 6-7wks (prob the longest ive ever stuck at anything).

it isnt as easy though is it. all the 'health' snacks seem to be chocka block full of fats and such. i mean come on oreo's are vegan :/

it is an amazing step your taking and i would like to say 'GOOD ON YOU & GOOD LUCK'!

weight watchers is a fantastic program offering some well needed support and understand, and encouragment. i hope you update on 'the kind life' so we can all see the wonderful progress you're sure to make :)

I just wanted to wish you luck as someone who's been there (my top weight was 198 and I am 5'5")...I think you will find it easier to lose weight being vegan, as long as you stick to whole foods.

I lost most of my weight before I went vegan, but in the year I've been vegan, I've noticed that food is no longer an issue for me. I am finally at peace with food and I don't feel like I ALWAYS have to be dieting...it's like I'm suddenly a "naturally thin" person! I only hope your experience is as positive...enjoy it! :)

Thank you everyone for being so kind. Tomorrow starts the 21 day kick start program so I'm doing that and counting points...it has great recipes and everyone can join their 21 day program. The kick start program is all vegan and has nothing to do with weight watchers.

Hey Michele,

good luck with your exceptional journey! It's great that you're sharing this with us, so keep sharing and do not give up hope! I am sure that being a vegan will change how you feel. Maybe not at once, but eventually it will.

Best wishes,

Charlotte
