I'm so excited to become a superhero! I've been vegan for 1 1/2 years and it's time to up the healthiness. I do have a general question that I can't seem to find a direct answer to, maybe someone can help me out? I re-read TKL and I understand the difference between vegan & superhero, or I think I do. I would assume that products like tofu, veganaise, sourdough bread & Ezekial products would NOT be considered superhero, however they are in Alicia's superhero recipies. Aren't they processed? What gives? Thanks :)

Hi! So happy to hear you're excited about going superhero :D As for your question, at last what I read from other maco books as well, it's okay to have these like 3-4 times a week opposed to 3 times a day everyday. Same goes with fruit and nuts. Also macrobiotic is all about trying out things and feeling out what works for you. It may be that you feel better eating these more throughout the week than others and that's fine. Just remember for bread get whole wheat sourdough or sprouted, whole wheat pasta, and if you use oil try to stick to unrefined sesame oil. But like I said, it's okay to jump around a little and be superhero 4-5 days out of the week and vegan the other 2 like Alicia does ;)

Hi Bailey! I am just starting on the superhero diet, after being vegan for 7 years. I was just wondering how you are going, as I notice you posted this thread back in Sept. Any tips or tricks for me?
