I thought I'd share some news about a wonderful organzation that a friend helped to start in Denver called Sprout City Farms (http://www.sproutcityfarms.org/)

The goal of this project is to create farms in underutilized land in urban areas. Most notably, Sprout City started a farm in a nearby lot adjacent to a Denver Public School. The one-acre farm now produces an array of fresh fruits, veggies, and herbs served directly in the school cafeteria, as well as to local residents of the community.
