You can use a mix of citronella & cedarwood essential oil. About 20 drops of each into a half a liter of water and spray it everywhere!
You can use the same oils for your pets. Add a few drops into some gentle liquid soap. Start with a little at first tho. Just like with people, you should test for sensitivity. Just use a bit of the soap to wash a paw and give it a few days. If all is good, use the soap for the rest of the body.
If you don't really like the scent of citronella (like me), you can also try lemon oil or add lavender to the mix to mellow out the citronella scent.
Hi, we've got a big flea problem as well. I've been giving our cat some vinegar/garlic liquid supplements that I purchased. Just finish off the bottle and I haven't noticed any difference. I bathe her once a week and comb her twice a day but the fleas are still totally out of control. I'm interested in trying the above recipe but have read that citrus is toxic to cats. Does anyone know any more about this? Thanks!
