kabocha squash

I finally found kabocha squash at my WF. Its orange and hard. Is that what its supposed to look like? Is it supposed to be green? Not sure how to proceed because Alicia's recipes say not to peel (yes, its organic). This thing is more like a mini pumpkin, I couldn't peel it if I tried! Someone Please advise!

Yes, it looks like a little pumpkin! Go all in! Follow a recipe or just throw the whole thing in the oven. :-D


Yes, there are orange kinds too.
