What kind of water is safest/healthiest?

After having a discussion with a friend who has become ill using bottled water in Florida, I'd like to learn about what kind of water other Vegans drink. I use Brita filters but heard recently that they aren't all that healthy and I'm looking for better and safer options.
I'd appreciate any thoughts you would be kind enough to share. Thanks!
I drink fresh, pure, clean water....straight from the tap!
Well, it's relatively pure. In Metro Vancouver (BC) our water is first UV treated, then a small amount of chlorine is added. If you leave a jug in the fridge, the chlorine dissapates in a few hours.
