Everything I read says to turn off the central heating system and go with room heaters so that you use less energy. My problem is finding the "greenest" room/space heater -- there are so many. Electric, gas, infrared, etc. I've been looking at these ceramic heaters, but even in this category there are so many. What are your thoughts? Have any of you done away with your home heating system and switched solely to portable heaters? Currently we're planning (it's just my husband and I) on getting two: one for the bedroom and one we can move between the living room and kitchen.
