I recently returned from Limbe Wildlife Centre, a primate rescue and rehabilitation center in Cameroon. They do absolutely amazing work - taking in orphaned primates and ex-pets from the bushmeat trade, rehabilitating them, and allowing them to live out a normal life with other members of their species. When the animals come in, they are often traumatized (after witnessing the death of their entire family and being kept in terrible conditions), and the staff works day and night, always putting the animals before themselves. Every individual animal is absolutely amazing, and LWC currently houses chimps, gorillas, 13 species of monkeys, as well as birds and reptiles. I'm hoping to educate others about the bushmeat trade, wildlife conservation, and the work of Limbe Wildlife Centre (LWC), and created Friends of LWC in order to support their work. Please check out www.friendsoflwc.org to learn more, and spread it wide and far! smiley-smile.gif
