Yes I have suffered in severe type of Acne several times and then I tried so many things including herbal treatments. The herbal treatments are very good to get rid from acne but its a temperary topical solutions of the problem. You have to check some other facts which are contributing in your acne problem....i.e.

1. Hormonal imbalance

2. Depression

3. Tension

4. Lack of sleep

5. Junk or oily food

6. Lack of water consumption

7. Stomach problems

If you will control these things your medicines will be more effective.

The Two topical creams was very effective in my acne treatment everytime:

1. Brevoxyl Cream 4%

2. On The Spot Acne Treatment Cream by Neutrogena

There are so many acne related products by Neutrogene and they all are very good and effective.

I'm not vegan anymore, but eating wild salmon has truly worked a miracle on my skin, not to mention my overall health.Remember that each person's body and diet and nutritional needs are different.Veganism is admirable, but it is not for everyone.Honor yourself and your body and it's needs, when you are in balance it will show.
Benzol peroxide is super harsh and I'm never using it again.Although it's pricey,Acure Argan Line Eraser really works..

Dear KindLifer686 and everyone above - I am 39, a vegan for 6 months along with my entire family. My acne started 6 years ago but was very mild. I too went off the pill about 7-8 months ago. Since I turned vegan the acne has gotten slightly worse, but this summer I broke out HORRIBLY all over my face. At first I thought it was poison or something. Doctors just want to give me antibiotics, which have given me terrible vertigo and made me so nauseous. I have googled every possible option of what this is! THANK YOU for your post. As of today I am going to eliminate soy, wheat and caffeine and see where that takes me. SOY really hasn't occurred to me.

I also started a cleanse recommended by a friend and owner of a local naturalist store I am drinking dandelion root tea and taking milk thistle. I am waiting on the burdock root to be delivered- another herbal remedy.

Do any of you have any idea how fast this acne might disappear?

Hey LJ, I know this sounds really unhelpful but it will disappear faster if you try not to think about it. When we get stressed out our bodies become super unhappy and stress can provoke acne attacks. For me it took about two months for the acne to totally disappear. I drank loads of green tea, stopped smoking, stopped drinking alcohol and started taking a zinc supplement and a vitamin b6 supplement. Good Luck.

I never knew soy could be one of the reasons for acne! I think wheat and sugar are big ones for me. Vegans should be careful about their soy consumption anyway as it is a goitrogen and inhibits the thyroid from absorbing iodine. Vegan diets (especially in the UK) have little to no iodine so iodized salt or sea kelp supplements are advisable.
