something my meat eater husband said to me

Hello
i have never really thought of this before, but my husband after being told by me how eating meat is disgusting and all the reasons why i dont eat animal by products, he said to me, well how do you know if your organic veggies and food that you eat is not next to some farm who does have animals and slaughter houses and all animal by products like feces etc are running into the organic farm next store and its all cross contaiminated. Doesnt anyone ever think about if our food that we eat is cross contaiminated? just food for thought as my husband put it.
I've heard similar arguments. One that had me concerned was hearing that alot of organic farmers use fertilizer that contains fish by-products instead of chemicals. I guess my feeling is that I will do my best to make the best decisions for my body, the animals, and the environment. Are they all perfect? No, but neither am I. But a girls' gotta eat, so at some point you gotta say, my best is good enough.
FYI, my husband is a meat eater too. But he often eats (and enjoys) my food. Baby steps.
