vegan red wine vinegar

Since several red wines are not vegan friendly, I was wondering if vegan red wine vinegar exists? I stood in front of the vinegar selection at Whole Foods todays for about 20 minutes, reading labels and Googling "vegan red wine vinegar" and I found several websites that gave vegan recipes using red wine vinegar, and a few that even gave the advice that "wine is made only from grapes, so red wine vinegar is vegan," which isn't necessarily true...right? Any suggestions? Thanks a bunch (of grapes)!
