Healthier Eating for Children

Hello!

I've been flirting with the vegetarian world for almost a year, and I'm now ready to become a full fledged vegetarian (and plan on now flirting with the vegan world)!

My concern is my two daughters ages 7 and 2. Sadly (and with great shame) all they really know is mac-n-cheese, chicken nuggets, hot dogs and the like :( How can I transition them into healthier (meat free) eating that they will actually eat??? Especially since my husband, albiet he wants to start eating healthier, refuses to give up his meat.

Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated. Thank you in advance!!

When I decided to become vegan, I started cooking lots more, and didn't force my choices on the rest of the family. After almost a year, the rest of my family are still omnivoires, but they are much more informed, and healthy. And my husband loves eating what I make! And for some reason, my 4 year old mostly avoids processed meat. Don't force it on anyone... seeing the joy and the care that you put into the kitchen will insipre them over time. It would be fun if my son came to the decision one day to be vegetarian, but I will make that his choice when the time comes.

Start your day by drinking enough water to keep your body always hydrated instead of sweet drinks or grab a fruit or vegetable instead of a cookie or chips. Milk is a perfect source of nutrients which are compulsory for human body and help in prevention of chronic ailments.
