Hello! I am wondering if anyone has any information about going vegan after gastric bypass surgery. I had surgery over 2 years ago, and have been searching since then for info with no luck. I am required to have 50-70 grams of protein a day. I would like to use as few processed soy products as possible. My surgeon's office says "No way." I think there must be people out there who have been successful in going vegan and meeting the protein requirements. I look forward to hearing from you Kind Lifers.

Just like I posted in the P90X2 discussion, I'm required to have at least 50 grams of protein based on my caloric intake for fat loss and I'm not having a problem meeting those demands. I use meal replacements and protein powder that's high in protein. I bake a lot of Tofu and include it often with beans and veggies and salsa for a quick go to meal. I get my vegan powders from GNC formulated by Branden Brazier not sure if that's how you spell it but he has a terrific book out called "The Thrive Diet". Good Luck!
