Just a quick hello.

I went veg on Dec 20 after reading The China Study. My mother just had a stroke (at 60) and though she's escaped with only minor lasting effects, it terrified me. Since deciding to make the change, I've read The Kind Diet, 21 day vegan kickstart, Eating Animals, etc and I'm quite certain it's the right decision.

I have a 1 year old and a 3 year old. The 1 year old is easy, she eats what I eat. The 3 year old, however, is hard. She loves cow milk, and cow cheese. And try as we might, she can spot a plant milk a mile away regardless of how much chocolate I try and cover it with. We've done almond, rice, soy, soy vanilla, and coconut. She's also not really into veggies or beans, though she'll put away any fruit or noodle I give her.

My husband is warming to the idea. He's supportive so that's the most important thing.

I'm currently going back to school and majoring in Nutrition and Food Science. I want to become a R.D. and work with new moms on WIC when I graduate.

I look forward to speaking with you all!

I don't blame you on the stroke front. I'm a 36yo survivor myself with major physical and less severe cognitive issues. My life will never be the same. I am on a mission now to prevent anyone from having a stroke. You never think in your youth that that risk is even real.
