Favorite yoga mat?

I just won 3 months of fitness bootcamp through my chiropractor (yay! I never win anything!!!). One of the required supplies is a yoga mat and mine is very old, very worn out, and wasn't of good quality to begin with. I prefer my mats on the thick and sticky side - I'm a very sweaty yogi with crummy joints. What are your favorite brands/models of yoga mats? Thanks!

Although it's not very sticky, I love the thickness of this eco-friendly exercise mat. I've had it for a year and a half and have found it to be very durable. I love the purple color, too. :)

I use it primarily for floor exercises (abs, leg lifts, etc.) and not yoga, but it helps keep my knees cushioned and I never feel the floor below me.

Hi. I'm actually very opinionated about yoga mats. The number one is to avoid a mat made from PVC (most cheap ones are). They off gass toxic fumes which would be horrible to breath in while you are doing something so healthy.

My absolute favorite mat is by Jade. They use 100% natural rubber, and the entire company is sustainable. I actually recently blogged about yoga mats. You can read it here: http://www.thegreengirlnextdoor.com/is-your-yoga-practice-toxic/

If you need suggestions for repurposing your old mat, check out A Dozen Ways to Reuse your Yoga Mat: http://www.thegreengirlnextdoor.com/a-dozen-ways-to-reuse-your-yoga-mat/

I'm not here to try to promote my blog. But since I've already written about it, it makes sense to post it.

Hope this helps.

Ooo I love my Manduka! It's thick, sticky and oh so durable too! The price is a bit high (I recieved mine as a gift for Christmas). But to any devot Yogi or Yogin, I'd highly recommend the switch if possible <3
